Arup is an independent firm and has been active in Ireland since 1946. Since our foundation, Arup has grown to become one of the largest consultancy firms in in the country with offices in Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Galway and Limerick.

Working to deliver a sustainable future, we have built a reputation for bringing global expertise to an increasingly broad range of projects across all areas of the built and natural environments. From designing buildings and infrastructure, to harnessing digital insights and providing strategic advice backed by our technical expertise, we work with our clients to solve their most complex challenges and turn exciting ideas into tangible reality.

Sustainability and Supply Chain

Designers play a pivotal role in shaping sustainable buildings and infrastructure to achieve climate goals. At Arup, we seek sustainability opportunities in every aspect of our work – from built and natural environment projects to advising clients at an organisational level.

We engage with and influence the supply chain by assessing the carbon impact of our designs. Since 2022, we have been carrying out whole-life carbon assessments on all our building projects. This approach shapes our design process, helping us to understand the lifecycle impact of products and recommend reduction or reuse, where appropriate. We also recognise wider sustainability elements such as nature, circular economy and resilience within the supply chain.

At an organisational level, our specialists in sustainability, procurement, logistics and supply chain help organisations to establish their baselines, develop strategies, engage with suppliers and continuously monitor and improve performance.
