Building sustainable communities where people can thrive

Sustainability Policy
Sustainable Procurement Policy

Cairn Homes plc is Ireland’s largest homebuilder and self-build developer, with unrivalled track record in the design, construction and delivery of homes, putting down a marker that will stand for generations to come and building towards an Ireland where everyone can thrive.

We seek to leave a legacy of community and sustainability that will endure long after our work is done. This principle guides our work and is the driving force behind our commitments to decarbonising the built environment, sustainable building practices, quality, health and safety, and respect for our people.

In responding to the housing crisis, we particularly recognise the impact our activities have on the environment and we are on a mission to reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the biodiversity on our sites as they transform into homes and communities.

At the heart of our commitment to sustainable placemaking is the time we spend on developing community initiatives. To ensure that these initiatives are sustainable in the long term, we concentrate on giving residents the tools, resources and power to drive projects forward after the initial pilot schemes. We believe that this is the way to create highly desirable and socially responsible developments that will evolve and grow over time to become even better.

Sustainability and Supply Chain

Cairn Homes plc’s purpose is to build new homes and create places where people love to live. We take a responsible approach: building high-quality, sustainable homes; creating communities; and striving to improve the built environment in Ireland. Working closely with our suppliers and contractors, we will promote sustainable and attainable building in Ireland, being respectful of both people and planet.

Why we have become a Partner of the School

We have become Founding Partners of the School because we believe that sustainability is a collective responsibility for everyone, and recognise that we can and should use our position to help disseminate the knowledge required to make change throughout the industry. We want our Supply Chain to come on this journey with us and are happy to provide resources they will need to do so through the School.
