Derek Sinnott BE MSc PhD CEng MIEI
Derek Sinnott is a Chartered Engineer and management consultant with over 20 years of combined industry and academic experience. He leads Future Focused Solutions, a specialist consultancy and coaching practice that helps organisations uncover unrealised opportunities enabling sustainable growth, innovation, and long-term resilience.
Through his work, Derek supports public and private sector clients on their journeys of Lean transformation, organisational performance improvement, and ESG integration, helping them build stronger, more future-ready enterprises.
Alongside his consultancy practice, Derek serves as a Senior Lecturer at South East Technological University (SETU), where he leads master’s programmes in Building Regulatory Compliance and Construction Project Management. His applied research explores innovation, Lean methodologies, and sustainability within the built environment.
Derek is also the Executive Director of Lean Construction Ireland and has held several national leadership roles, including Chair of the Pyrite Resolution Board.
